Why is the Chinese Government sponsoring this promotion?
During the last few years the Chinese Government have elected to promote some of the lesser known Provinces in line with their future cultural and commercial plans and, of course, the timing is linked to the 2008 Olympic games in Beijing.
How long will the sponsorship last?
Anyone investing in the promotion will be able to market/use the discount vouchers until July 2010.However, this is likely to be extended until 2015 and other Southern China provinces, such as Sichuan, will be added to the promotion.
Where's the market for this promotion?
In 2006 China had approx. 268,000 sightseeing visitors and 184,000 business visitors from the UK. The total number of visitors from Europe was approx.1.2 million sightseers and 690,000 business visitors. These figures represent a 10% growth year on year since 2004 and the Olympic Games is likely to increase that growth, and will provide the ideal springboard for China to promote the lesser known, but arguably more spectacular, locations.
The Souvenir Voucher Books are ideal for incorporating into Corporate Promotions, Travel Incentives, Staff Incentives, Dealer Promotions and Corporate Gifts. Yunnan and Guizhou are not well known – yet – hence the Promotion/s! However they are only a few hours flight from Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong and close to the borders of Vietnam and Myanmar (Burma). Discount travel and accommodation is offered as part of this promotion and there are several publications offering advice and guidance for visitors to Southern China.
How does the promotion work for the visitor?
The standard pack includes two books with bound illustrative vouchers that depict all the available sites, attractions and activities in Yunnan and Guizhou. The book is presented at any of the sites, one person pays full price and one gets in free – 50% discount. The vouchers, which stay in the book, are stamped and become a souvenir token of your visit. In addition the pack contains a membership card for the Happy Paradise Club which allows you to register online before you travel. Once you are touring around Yunnan and Guizhou you can use this card to get discount on airline tickets, accommodation, car hire and various clubs, bars and restaurants supporting the Happy Paradise membership. Visitors with bespoke corporate packs should refer to instructions inside the packs.
How much can I save with this promotion?
The discounts using the Happy Paradise Membership card vary between 40% to 50%. The face value of entry to all the locations in Yunnan and Guizhou, of which there's a choice of over 200, is just over £500 with a discount of 50% ( two for one) at each location. Remember, the promotion lasts for a minimum of three years until July 2010 and is likely to be extended.
